If you work at home and make money online business opportunities, chances are you are dealing with either network marketing or affiliate marketing. You may associate these terms with multi level marketing (MLM). It has a bad reputation to some people. Actually the two terms are different. Network marketing is similar to the MLM, but the affiliate marketing is a commission based sales. You get a percentage commission that is set by the company or product owner. Read on to see the differences between those two kinds of marketing and clear a confusion.
If you are an online affiliate marketer and sell either information products or physical products, you get your commission on each sale transaction. You make some money when someone buys your products through your link. Some companies such as Amazon have a compensation plan where you get pay a higher commission based on the volume you sell. You must sign up some sort of registration and agree to the contract terms to become their affiliate. Some of them require you to have a website approved before participating in their program.
However, the Network marketing is different. You get paid when you refer someone to join the sponsoring company. Sponsoring company may pay you as a network marketer up to unlimited levels. However, they have the original agreement will outline the maximum amount of payment as well as the maximum number of levels the payout you can reach. Contract and agreement differ from one company to another. . Usually if you’re an upline network marketer, you also earn a referral fee from your downlines when they sign up their friends to join the network.
Internet Market VS Network Marketing: The main Five differences:
Layers: In the network marketing system, there are several layers or mountains of people and recruiters. Each associate has at least two downlines. Then these two downlines have also two downlines under them, and it can go on and on. However, affiliate marketing compensation scheme does not involve layers of downlines at all.
Effort: Affiliate marketers have to put in time and continuous effort to produce desired income. The more they bring more targeted traffic, the more the get commission. However, network marketing usually requires more efforts, time, and energy initially, but as the time passes, they can build residual incomes from the network of the recruits.
People skill: For the network marketing work, they need to have strong interpersonal and recruiting skills because they need to recruit more people to build their downlines. Whereas, affiliate marketers don’t need to have that much, but sale experience is helpful. It is more like an individual effort through different attempts.
Repeated Sales: Network marketers commonly sell consumable products or services that result in repeated sales. Affiliate marketers usually market info products such as ebook or physical products that are needed one time only.
Ease of selling: In the network marketing, it is more difficult to sell because there are many layers and they sell the same thing. Moreover, the supply is normally outweighs the demand. When there are more layers, sales would go to stagnation.
It is different when you’re an affiliate marketer. You can market multiple products and companies at the same time. That give the buyers more choices. Affiliate sales could be slow in the beginning, but it could take off exponentially as a matter of time if you do proper way.
Hopefully by now you have a clear picture of “Affiliate marketing” and “Network marketing.” There are plenty of people who are making a living doing either one of them or both at the same time. There is no way to get rich quick though. Some energy, time, and efforts are required for any program. Most importantly you also have to choose a sponsoring company carefully and be sure to check all the compensation plans thoroughly before signing up if you’re interested in any of those programs.

Any other internet marketing tools you can think of?
Let me know if you find other tools that are great to have for internet marketing business.
As you know there are some people who love to flip either websites or domain for their supplement income. It could be a lucrative business if you keep a tap on the internet market and have a knack on designing and business trade skills. Read my analysis below if you want to know which one is better between the domain and website flipping.
Domain flipping
Time and Work: It takes less time and work involve to search for a domain that is available. But the question is, “is there a market for it?” Are they easy to sell? I have seen a lot of domains at the auction site such as Digital Forum. They do not have a good domain names. My conclusion is it is very hard to sell.
Market: The domain market has become pretty saturated over the last couple years and it's made it very difficult to make good money unless you really know what you're doing. Unless you know some tricks, such as knowing the hot product release, then you may make some money buy grabbing the domain name before it is taken. You can not get a domain with two or three-word domain now a day. I am talking about the top level domain (TLD) name. But it still no guarantee because you do not know what people are looking for. Remember, internet marketing is a moving target.
Website flipping
Design and Development skills: Website flipping is generally much faster but it all depends on the skill of the person. Website flipping has to move towards creative designing, development, and implementation. You must have a passion on design and development or you have an access to development team. On top of that, you must have a business mind, such as sales and marketing.
Easy to sell: There are a lot of people understand the value of a website. Its value based on the content, design, age, page rankings, traffic, unique visitors, page views, and other factors, such as the script, products, etc…Normally, you can sell a good website for a multiple of annual revenue because the buyer expect to get their money back in one or two year. It is a good investment.
Time and work: This website flipping involves a lot more time than the domain flipping. However, there is a value that people want if you add a unique design, features, and benefits to website. If there is a need in the market, you will find it very easy to flip the website. Your time and investment will pay off if you design what people want. In conclusion, I believe you have to check your profile to see if you have what it take to be a website flipper. If not, forget about investing your time and money on the domain flipping because the market is saturated.
Tip: Learn how to due diligence before buying a site.
