It makes blogging easier for you to share your photos and videos on almost any blog service—Windows Live, WordPress, Blogger, LiveJournal, TypePad, and many more. On top of that, it will make you have a better blogging experience such as posting to multiple blogs if you have many of them. You can download it here, http://download.live.com/writer
Here are the features of Windows Live Writer:
1- What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG):
As you are the author of your post, you know the styles of your blog such as headings, fonts, colors, background images, paragraph spacing, margins and block quotes exactly what it will look like before you publish it. With the Writer you are able to edit your post using these styles. It also includes other views including HTML source-code editing and web preview mode. No more wasting time going through the process of publishing, refreshing, previewing, and tweaking your post to get it looking the way you want. It’s all right there in Writer.
2- Photo Publishing
This feature allows you to insert, customize, and upload photos to your blog a snap. You can copy and past a photo from a web page or insert it into your post by browsing image thumbnails through the “Insert Picture” dialog.
After insertion of the photo, Writer provides contextual editing tools to modify size, text wrapping, borders, and apply graphic effects. Writer also allows you specify a smaller thumbnail that will link to a larger image for detailed viewing.
3- Map Publishing
Here is a cool feature of Writer, you can insert a Windows Live Local map directly into a post. On top of that, you can customize it within Writer– including changing the view to show road, aerial or bird’s eye detail and by adding pushpins. It allows your readers to click on the map and get a larger view on the Windows Live Local site.
4- Compatibility
It is compatible with Blogger, LiveJournal, TypePad, WordPress (and many others).
