Why do experts want to be interviewed?
In natural way, most people would love to tell how great they are. They want public to spread their reputation. And the expert would love to brag how he or she got to be so successful. That is a human nature. What you have to do just search who in the greatest in your niche market and ask him or her for the interview.
How do You Get an Interview with an Expert
The following 8 points will increase the likelihood that your request for an interview with your chosen expert will be accepted.
- Don’t be afraid to ask: Remember that ‘experts’ are just normal people like you and me, and in most cases they’ll be honored by your request. The worst that can happen is that your request will be denied and you send out an interview request to the 2nd person on your list.
- Contact the expert via their preferred means of contact: Don’t Tweet them or use their Facebook account when it’s obvious that they have a Support Desk on their primary site. Look around the site to see if JV information is posted, as that might give you more specifics on the information they require to proceed.
- Include information about your project plans: Include a bit about yourself and your experience, as well as details about the planned length and format of the interview (recorded or written response). Telephone recorded interviews are generally preferred as it takes less time to answer the same number of questions.
- Attach a list of general questions: Include plan to ask. Keep your questions fairly general and limit them to a number that can be answered fully within the timeframe suggested. Do not try to have your expert answer 30 questions in an hour. That makes for rushed responses which are of limited value to your audience.
- Let your expert pick the time and date: Have you expert suggest an interview date and time that works best for them and make sure you know in which time zone they are located.
- Pick the right transcript service: If you plan to transcribe recorded interviews, be sure to use a transcriptionist whose first language is English and tell him or her to get rid of the ‘ums, ahs and ers’! Ugh! It will look clean and professional.
- Offer your expert a copy: After you finish editing, give one copy of your completed project to your expert and mention whether you plan to have an affiliate program through which they can promote your product if they so choose.
- Keep your request brief. Very few folks have the time or inclination to read 1,000 words (article length) to discover the point of the message. Keep it brief and simple.
Conducting the Interview
Have an introduction prepared in advance to welcome listeners and introduce your expert speaker. Simply saying ‘and with us today is ____’, isn’t enough. You need to share information about the speaker’s background and credentials for those in your audience who may not be familiar with your guest.
Welcome your guest onto the call and let them respond before launching into the meat of the matter – asking questions and getting well-formed answers that enlighten and entertain your audience.
What Questions You Should Ask? (5 most important questions)
Here are 5 powerful questions to ask the expert:
1-The people in the audience do not know who you are. Please tell us who your are and what you do.
2- If some reasons you have to start all over again, what would you do?
3-What is the biggest mistake you made getting started in your profession?
4-What does it take to be so successful?
5- What questions that I did not ask, but I should have asked and they are relevant to you?
To answer the question if the expert interview would generate the traffic to your site, I say it is worth your time to expose your expert to the next level as well as increasing traffic to your site. It requires you some planning and some work to let your audience know you got a great tips from the expert in your particular niche.
To drive traffic to your site, you simply do the advertisement about your expert in the forum where the niche of expert is under. If your expert’s specialty is blogging business, you should do advertisement at the bloggers forums and you simply let your members of membership site know. They would spread the news to their friends and would be appreciated for learning a few tips from the expert. You can event make some money out of the recorded interview by selling it as your product at your site.

I am glad you dropped by my blog post and I love to hear your thoughts. So please leave your comment below.
What is a Link?
As the name applied, it is a connection from another page of a site or blog post to your site. That form is called a link. A lot of links form a link network. Every page on the Internet has a link network which is made up of the pages that link or point to that page. These links can come from other pages on your own website which are called internal links and from other websites that link to you which are called external links. Together these links form a link network that is unique to each page.
Why you need a lot of links?
To achieve a top ranking in the major search engines, you need to get a lot of links pointing to your website. Having many links to your site on websites that are relevant to yours will increase your link popularity factor. This will increase your rankings at the search engines including Google, Yahoo, and MSN among others. Then, you’ll have more visibility, and correspondingly more clicks to your site, and if you’re selling anything, this translates to more money in your pocket!
However, not all links are counted by Google. Some links such as link farms are filtered out. Your site could be
harmful when your webmaster have a link from a penalized site. So be careful which sites you link to.
I am not going to get into how Google use algorithm to calculate the page rank at this point.
Quality link means authority and credibility of your site. It is based on the benefits of your site to the community as a whole. If your site has a high authority or you have links to high authority pages, then you have a higher page rank. For example, the university site such Stanford.edu has a high page ranking because a lot of people go there to get great information. In reverse, if your site is new or has links to other new sites, your site is ranking zero or none ranking. The higher the ranking the more popular of your site on search engine and the more traffic to your site.
Types of Link
There are two kinds of link: inbound link and outbound link.
The inbound link is the link from other pages of website to your site and the outbound link is the link that is going out from your site to other sites or blogs.
Authority and Ranking
Authority site means you are providing benefits to the community. There are a lot of people coming to your site and other blogs or sites link to your site too because you are the expert in a particular subject or niche. Those people want to learn from your about what you do as a professional. It is the same thing as people follow you in your Twitter account.
Why is that link so important? Well! that the way Google set the page rank. It is ranking your site or post page based on casting a vote for the other page. If you have more votes that are cast for a page, Google considers that you have an important page. And your page’s page Rank is calculated based on the important on each vote. And it is one of the factors the determines a page’s ranking in the search results.
Watch the YouTube video that explains how important it is of link building.
There are two factors that influent the authority and ranking.
The first factor that influences the rank of a page is the number of incoming links. A good way to think of this is that each link is like a ‘vote of confidence’. If a lot of other websites are linking to and thereby voting for a page then it suggests that the page contains good quality content.
A second factor that influences the rank of a particular page is the authority of the linking pages. For example, the first website is linked to by 3 relatively new bloggers who just enjoyed reading the page. These linking pages do not carry a lot of authority and so the ranking impact of these links will be minimal.
The second website, on the other hand, is linked to by CNN.com, USA.gov, and NASA.gov. These linking pages clearly DO carry a lot of authority. The fact that these high authority sites are linking to this page transfers authority to the page and has a high impact on its rank in the search engines.
How do you get links to your blog or site?
Here are some ways to get links:
- Exchange links with other blogs or sites
- Place your comment on other blogs
- Use Yahoo Answers to get links in your niche
- Use forums related to your blog
Speaking of link exchange (reciprocal link), if you use WordPress blog, there a plugin that you can use to create a link directory (Website directory). It is called the WordPress Link Directory.
The link exchange may eventually result in your directory ranking higher in the search engines and having a higher PageRank.
How to Install the Plugin
Step 1. Go to “Plugin” tab, Click “Add New” near the “Mange Plugins” label, then enter “WordPress Link Directory” in the space provide and click “Search Plugins” tab.
Step 2. Make sure the type selected is “ WordPress Link Directory Plugin”. Click install.
Step 3. Activate the plugin.
Step 4. Create a page by going to the WordPress “Write/Page”. Enter the “Title” of your link directory.
Step 5. To create your categories, pages, and links in the page area, insert the following:
Step 6. Publish the page.
You will notice in your WordPress Admin Page that a new “WP Link Directory” option is available. By clicking on that menu you will be able to choose the settings and options you want your Link Directory to have.
Check the “reciprocal link HTML” box for the accuracy of your link title, URL and description.
Create the categories that you want to allow others to link to.
Note: leave the “Permalink” box blank, otherwise it is NOT going to work properly.
What Do You Think?
I love to hear your thoughts about this blog post. So please leave your comment below.
As you know that there are two kinds of traffic that you can have to generate back links to your blogs. They are natural organic traffic or you may call it free traffic and the paid traffic. For the free traffic one, you can use the social media networking such as tweeter to have visitors to come to your blog/site. You can also write your article contained a keyword-riched content and submit it to the article directories to boost traffic. There are other methods to drive traffic too.
However, there one dirty paid traffic that some people use to drive the traffic to their article and increase their back links. They use the “DonkeyMails” service to do the trick. As you can see the screen shot titled “Super Special Packages with up to 50% Discount!!!” below. The first line you see the special ads that they can get 10cents per click for 5,000 clicks and pay just $9.99. With that service, they can drive the traffic to their article that they submitted to Ezinearticles. Even though it is aware of this activity, those people can go around with it by setting two domains and PHP script to strip out location where it is coming from. Doing that way, the Ezinearticles would consider that is legit because they do not know the traffic is coming from the same source.
Some people consider that activity as a grey area, not black area where it is unethical for some group of people. You are the judge and jury to this issue. I just want to let you be aware what is out there.

Before I talk about the Yahoo Answers, if I have left anything out or you know of any other way to get more traffic, then please share with the audience/readers by leaving a comment below.
What is Yahoo Answers?
Yahoo Answers is a community where you can submit any questions or answers to those questions asked by other members. You will earn 2 points for answering each question, and 10 points if your answer is chosen to be the best answer by multiple votes. However, it will cost you 5 points per question that you ask. Anyway, it is a way to share of knowledge, help others, and earn points based on quality of your answer.
How Does it Drive Traffic to Your Blog?
If you answer to a question at the Yahoo Answers and you leave the URL link to your website, the person who asks the question would go to your website and finds the answer(s) or tips to the question. However, if your answer is the best one, there are going to be more than one person goes to your site. This happens when other searchers who had the same question as the person who posted the question at Yahoo Answers, googled the same keyword related to your answered. There will be a lot of people would go to your site. The more people go to your site, the more traffic you are going to get, not to mention the back links.
What Do You Have to Do to Get Traffic from Yahoo Answers?
- Open a Yahoo Answers account if you do not have a Yahoo email account. Pay close attention to your profile. Fill out as much information as you can. Include your best photo so that your profile looks like real people.
- Next, click “Answer”, go to category section under “all categories” and click the category that is related to your keyword niche or your blog. Or you can go to the advanced search of Yahoo Answers, enter your keywords into the keyword field. Select “Questions” under search keyword match in. Select category. Then select “Open questions—best answer has not chosen” and click “Search” button.
- Lastly, answer them and leave your URL link back to your website for more detail. Sooner or later, you will see more traffic coming from the Yahoo Answers if you keep answering to the questions related to your keyword niche of your blog every day.
Tips:
- When you answer those questions, give a brief explanation and convince the person who asked the question that he would get more detail by clicking the link to your website.
- Put your effort to provide the great answer so that you have a chance to be selected as the best answer. And when your content makes to the top of all the answers, you will get a continue traffic from that question.
- When you give the link, make sure it is going to blog post that answers to the related question, not to the index/main page. If the person got the answer, he surely would probe around to see what is your site about.
Note: Do not leave a link to your sales page because it may consider as a span and you can have your account suspended. It is a good way to use this site and stay within their terms and policies while continuing to build your reputation as an expert in your particular field.
So, is it Worth Your Time?
In my opinion, it is worth it even though it takes a lot of time, but you gain more than the traffic to your site. You lean what is the hot topic that people are talking about. Moreover, you can add another blog post about that hot topic and you can continue to get more traffic to your blog.

Before I finish this series, let me say, “If I have left anything out or you know of any other way to boost traffic quickly, then please share with the audience/readers by leaving a comment below”.
I covered placing a comment on other blogs, subscribing to those blogs’ RSS feeds, and joining a couple of forums in part 1 series, pinging a blog & using RSS feed in part 2 series, StumbleUpon in part 3 series, and Twitter in part 4 series. Anyway, I am glad you dropped by my blog and hope you learned a few tips on how to drive traffic to your blog.

7. Twitter
Twitter is one of free social networking sites and micro blogging service that enables you as a user to send and read messages known as tweets—text-based posts up to 140 characters displayed on the author’s profile page and delivered to the author’s subscribers who are known as followers.
If you do not have an account with Twitter, click here to sign up. Once there, click the big green button that says “Get Started – Join!” After filling in your full name, username, a unique password, a valid email address, and captchad , click “Create My account” button. Make sure you use an email address that you monitor regularly, as many actions taken in Twitter will be sent directly to your email as notifications.
Here are 8 simple ways to get more traffic from using twitter.
1. Tweet your new blog posts
Whenever you post something new to your blog or website you should Tweet it. This technique may boost traffic to your site instantly.
2. Use great “grabbing attention” titles to get more traffic
Having a great title will result in more of your followers clicking on your link. One of the simplest ways to make a great title is to have it start with a number. For example: 9 Ways To Boost Traffic to Your Site.
Numbered headlines get readers’ attention and give them a compulsive urge for a preview of the content. It is also a good idea to have your title sounded a promise to solve readers’ problem. If it promises real benefit to them, they are vey likely to take action and click on the link.
Putting these two concepts together (using numbered headlines and solving readers’ problems), generate more clicks on twitter.
3. Tweet only about things of value to readers
If you don’t want your tweets ignored by your followers, make sure they have real value to them. You have to know that they want “What Is in it For Me”. So you have to give them some things valuable.
And don’t try to sell something via twitter. A lot of people have lost their followers because they tried to make a quick buck. Your account could be suspended because Twitter moderator or other twitters consider those selling activities as a spam.
Remember that people follow you because of the value you provide to them. The minute you stop doing this is the minute that you lose followers.
4. Tweet your old blog posts
When you do not have new post, you could tweet your old posts with great value to your followers. Chances are that many of them have never seen it.
5. Use Google Analytics to track the best days & times to tweet
Some days a week and sometimes the day are better than others for tweeting your new blog posts and getting traffic. Gary McCaffrey has gathered data that suggests that 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time) are the best times to tweet and get traffic. But you need to test and try different times and see what works best for you.
6. Make sure it easy for visitors to tweet about your site
If you use WordPress, there is a simple plug-ins that put a “Retweet” and a “number of tweets” button on every blog post. It allows visitors to retweet your post with a click of button. It also displays how many people have tweeted about it. Click here to download the plugin called TweetMeme button for free. This plugin has the URL shortening feature built-in. It shortens your URL and counts the number of tweets automatically.
7. Get more followers
Obviously if you have more followers, then each tweet get more attention. And the more attention is more result in more traffic to your website. Here are a couple ways to get more followers:
- Place an invitation to follow you on twitter on your homepage. I recommend putting it above the fold where people can see it without having to scroll down.
- After your main content block on every page, post a link to your twitter account.
8. Mention word, “video or audio” in your tweet
If you want to share a video or audio with your followers, include the word “video” or “audio” in your tweet so that they have the option to watch or listen to it now or later and they would not be caught off guard. For example: “Video: 9 ways to boost your traffic for free”
On top of that, I know that some of them are at work and may not appreciate having a video come onto their screen alerting their boss that they are watching videos and not working.
I am glad you dropped by my blog and hope your learned a few tips on how to boost traffic to your blog.

In the previous series, I covered pacing a comment on other blogs, subscribing to those blogs’ RSS feed, joining a couple of forums in part 1 series and pinging a blog & using RSS feed in part 2 series. In this series, I am going to talk about StubleUpon.
6- StumbleUpon
There are more than 25 social networking sites (social media sites) available in the cyberspace, but here I am going to talk about just StumbleUpon–an intelligent browsing tool for discovering and sharing sites. It is a free intelligent browsing tool for those purposes. You can find websites related to your interest. It also helps you find some thing or tools that you might never search for.
The StumbleUpon tool bar makes stumbling the sites easier and it can bring more traffic to your site after you are good at stumbling your posts or pages. You can use it as a form of social bookmarking. Using StumbleUpon is one of many ways to get them exposed to the outside world. Even though it is not a direct targeted traffic, but it definitely generates a lot of page views and backlinks.
How do you stumble and increase traffic?
First of all, you need to open a StumbleUpon (SU) account. If you do not have one, click here to join StumbleUpon.
Next stumble some pages of your blog. Here is my recommendation. Do not stumble quite a lot of them at one time because your friends might get bored of receiving all of them from the same person. They might ignore your pages and feel those pages annoy them after a while. I know that you want to increase your traffic, but do not overdo it. Please consider others and keep stumbling to a minimum in one day.
Another tip when you stumble. Always try to make as many friends as possible. Share your interesting subject to other people who have the same interest as you do. Remember that people who have the like kind of interest tend to flog together. Like attracts like!
If someone stumbles your post, visit his/her site. Check out his/her profile and write a short message to thank that person. You can also stumble his/her profile which is a good way to build a bond with SU community and gain exposure.
Also do not just stumble your only blogs. Try to stumble other people’s blogs that are in same niche as you. This way would not make your friends bore with all pages from your blog. Different bloggers have different styles of writing.
Anyway, I am glad you dropped by my blog and hope your learned a few tips on how to drive traffic to your blog.

Let me review what I covered on part 1 series. I have talked about placing a comment on other blogs, subscribing to those blogs’ RSS feeds, and joining a couple of forums. In this series, I am going to talk about “pinging” a blog and using RSS feeds.
4- Ping a Blog to Let the World Know You Exit in Cyberspace
You need to ping places like Technorati and other update services to let them know your blog is up. WordPress will also automatically ping these sites whenever you put up a new post.
Go to Admin > “Settings tap” on your left hand side>Click “Writing” screen scroll down till you see “Update Services‟. Once you have that screen add all these urls to the Update Services window:

5- Optimize your RSS feed
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It’s a technology that allows information to be syndicated – made available to news readers– blogs or anyone who wants to receive it.
All blogs have an RSS output as standard, but there are two main RSS technologies in use today and RSS readers are not always able to accommodate both types.
To get around you have two options: setting up an account with Feedburner or generating your own feed.
Feedburner reads the RSS feed from your blog and converts it to a format that can be read by all readers. It also enables you to offer automatic updates by email, for those who prefer that, and gives you some great statistics on your blog readers.
Once you have ‘burned’ your blog feed, you will be given a Feedburner Feed URL and this is what you should use whenever you provide your RSS feed link to anyone. The problem with it is when you submit your RSS feed, it is not going to give credit to you site, but it is going to intermediary site instead.
Click here to go to Feedburner, and open an account if you do not have one. The RSS feed on your blog continually makes your articles and posts available to RSS readers – so this is another great way of ensuring that your new posts are made available as widely as possible as soon as they’re published.
Even if you’ve never used RSS, getting this set up is important because it’s another way of distributing your articles or your posts and attracting visitors.
The alternative option is you generate your own feed. In order to do that, if you are using WordPress, you can find this URL by adding the “feed” at the end of your domain. For example, http://www.paulyunonline.com/feed. Then you feed your RSS feed to the sites under the feed directory directly.

What do you think?
I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment below before you click away.
I understand how you felt about getting traffic to your new blog. I went through the same path as you did. I felt the same way as you did, too. I thought nobody would care enough to read my beautiful written article that is full of content ( you must have a great content on your blog before doing anything else). And I wondered how to get the visitors/readers to come to my blog. But you and I might have forgotten that there are many people who are starting blogs at any given moment as you and I did. Anyway, if you seek, you will find techniques that some gurus or professional bloggers used to drive the traffic to their blogs. Alternatively, if you ask, you will receive. I will talk about this in a minute.
If I have left anything out or you know of any other way to boost traffic quickly, then please share with the audience/readers by leaving a comment below.
The Golden Rule to start with
If you are a newbie to blog and need a little traffic boost to your blog, here are my suggestions:
1- Google the keyword that is related to your blog, go to some of those blogs, and leave a comment with your blog’s URL in the website field and your email address.
2- Be sure to subscribe to those blogs’ RSS feeds.
3- Join a couple of forums that related to your niche or interest. For example, if you are interested in the Internet Marketing, join the Self Starters Weekly tips. Ask them questions; then some body there would be glad to give you a few tips. This is what I talked about asking, then you will receive. Similarly to a quote from a bible, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” (Matt. 7:7).
One great benefit of joining forums is that your Signature links from reputable forums will help new websites to be indexed by search engines and you can exchange your link with other members.
Here is a list of 26 forums that help you make money online
I highly recommend checking out Digital Point, Wicked Fire, Earners Forum, and ABest Web ( if you don’t have time to visit all of the forums on the list, but you only have time to join one forum, try the Digital Point.
